Guided by Our Mountain Values
Sevier County is rooted in our mountain values of faith, hard work, honesty, and looking out for your neighbor. These values have carried us for generations, and they must guide us as we set a vision for the future of our county. My pledge is to never waiver from these core principles as we forge a path toward continued prosperity and enhanced quality of life for the people of the Smoky Mountains.
GUIDED BY OUR HERITAGE WITH A VISION FOR OUR FUTURE
About Bryan McCarter
As a 10th-generation Tennessean and Sevier County resident, Bryan’s roots run deep in the Smoky Mountains. Raised just down the road from his grandfather’s farm, he learned the life lessons of hard work and dedication to family that he carries with him today. Bryan graduated from Sevier County High School as a Valedictorian in 2000. He went on to Carson-Newman University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics and went on to attain his Certified Public Accountant license.
While in college, Bryan met his wife Anna, and they have been married for over 17 years. Bryan and Anna are parents to two spunky, creative, and wonderful daughters, Mattie Kate and Janie. You can find them cheering on their kids at basketball games, soccer and tennis matches, and swim meets. Bryan and Anna are people of strong faith. They are active members at First Baptist Church in Sevierville, where Bryan serves as a deacon, past chair of several committees, and leads a life group for married couples. Additionally, Bryan and Anna are members of the Sevierville Teen Board Advisory Committee, and Bryan also serves as the Treasurer of Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center.
Professionally, Bryan worked in public accounting for several years until he joined the staff at the town of Dandridge, first managing finances and then into the role of Town Administrator. In 2013, Bryan accepted the position of Finance Director for Sevier County. He began serving as Sevier County Vice Mayor for Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters in 2017. Bryan is a problem-solver and a planner, and he loves serving the people of Sevier County.
As Bryan runs for Sevier County Mayor, he pledges to be guided by our rich heritage and mountain values while setting a vision for continued growth and prosperity.
